Spring!!!

It's spring!! Doesn't it feel fresh & new? Makes YOU feel fresh & new when you walk out the door?

That's what a daily time with God will do for you -- make you feel fresh & new as you start your day.

Psalm 51:10
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Thanks-Giving

Hey, gang,
It's November, the month in which we celebrate Thanksgiving. That's an official national holiday. You're off school. You eat too much. You get together with your extended family. It makes you realize Christmas is just around the corner.

Well, I like to think of it as Thanks-Giving, so that we see it as an attitude, rather than as a holiday. All the above still apply, but I like to think about ways to give to others as a way of showing my thanks to God for the many wonderful ways I am blessed each day.

Want to join me?

A few things we can do:

On Nov 9, Friday evening, you can volunteer to help care for children so their parents can have a night out. Sign up to help!

Let's help set up for Children's School Thanksgiving Dinner; each year, almost 200 people gather in the Ministry Center to share a Feast, and we can help Children's School minister to these families. On Nov. 11, join me for an evening of pizza & fun, with a short time of service thrown in.

Each year our church puts together food baskets for needy families. Barb Long & Delores Reese will soon be announcing when the baskets will be prepared & delivered. Let's volunteer to help!

Other stuff that's coming up: Festival of Life, Christmas parties, and Quiz meet here in December.

Aren't we blessed? We are blessed to be a blessing. Let's Give thanks -- let's GIVE!

Happy New Year!

Well, not a new calendar year, but it is a New Year, nonetheless, as you begin a new school year. It always feels so new & fresh.

This is an opportunity to start fresh, make new "resolutions" to excel in a sport, or in your classes, or start something new -- work on yearbook, join chorus, or be a better friend.

Paul says (Philippians 3:13-14), "...the one thing I do is to forget what is behind me and do my best to reach what is ahead. So I run straight toward the goal in order to win the prize, which is God's call through Christ Jesus to the live above."

Wow, that's what I'm talking about -- a fresh start -- forget past failures, and move on toward your goals.

I hope one of your goals is to be Jesus in your world. If you haven't done that very well, in the past, it's a new start -- Happy New Year!!

Love, Nancy

The Body At Work

As part of the body of Christ, here are ways you can be The Body At Work in the next few weeks:

Praise & Worship Center Ministries Youth Explosion -- Contact Dave or Cindy Earp, and volunteer to be a part of reaching out to inner city Harrisburg, in partnership with Pastor Karen's church on July 20 & 21.

District NYI Work & Witness Trip to Arizona -- (July 21-28) Be praying for this team that will be ministering on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona, to Nazarenes there. Your prayers will be much appreciated, and you can also contribute to the offering each Wednesday evening, to purchase things needed by children & youth ministries at the Cedar Springs church, where we will be ministering.

VBS Fun Fair -- No youth group on August 22, because you are all needed to help man the activities at the Children's Fun Fair (6:30 PM at the pavilion). It's so much fun, and you are such a big help!!

Quiz Team or Puppet Team -- Starting up soon for the fall will be these 2 teams that will broaden your talents and ministry.

Festival of Life -- Begin preparing for FOL this fall, whether it's music, art, drama, writing, sports, etc. It will be here before you know it!

Personal Ministry -- Think of someone you want to minister to just person to person -- maybe an unsaved friend, or someone from church that you have not seen for a while. Maybe YOU are the one God wants to use to touch that person today!

It's summer time, vacation time, but the Body of Christ is never on vacation -- be Jesus to your world today!
